The Levang Family in Birmingham

Well, the day I've been waiting for what seems like an eternity finally arrived... on March 31st Jennifer, Kevin & Harper landed safely in Birmingham to begin their two week visit. Words can't even begin to express how ecstatic I was! Derek, Hayley & I (along with Mom & Tim) met them at the airport. We walked up to where they were waiting & I immediately spotted Harper in Mimi's arms. As soon as I spoke, Harper reached out for me to hold him & of course my heart just melted. He is by far the sweetest, happiest, most adorable little guy I've ever met.

We've spent quite a bit of time with them since that night so I'll blog some more later on about specific things we've done - Harper's 1st birthday & both of his parties, our trip to the Birmingham Zoo, Harper's first (& quite possibly last) bathtime experience with Aunt Stephanie, Harper at one of Hayley's softball games, & then whatever else we may do between now & the time they leave to go home. I'll be sure to post a few pics to go along with each event but for now here are some of my favorites from the first night they were in town:




Harper was very playful & happy, despite having traveled the entire day. Their initial flight left California quite early that Tuesday morning & after two stops with layovers they didn't land in Birmingham until after 6pm. I know some adults that would have been cranky after that much travel time (myself being one of them) but not Harper... he was in a great mood & didn't stop going until almost 11pm!



I've had so much fun watching Hayley with Harper & also seeing how much she enjoys spending time with Jenn & Kevin. She made sure she wore her Alright Lights t-shirt (Kevin's former band) that first night, which I thought was too cute.
